Reese Shirley Presented a Novel Approach
Reese Shirley Presented a Novel Approach to Zero Trust Solution Development at ATARC’s Federal Zero Trust Summit October 11, 2024

At ATARC’s Federal Zero Trust Summit, Electrosoft’s Roy (Reese) Shirley presented an Emerging Technology Talk detailing a novel approach to Zero Trust (ZT) solution development. Employing architectural principles, Reese illustrated how it is possible to map Department of Defense Zero Trust Activities and Framework to basic cybersecurity processes. In so doing, organizations can define the granular details needed to develop a robust set of compliant Zero Trust solutions.

Using a simplified business process, Reese reviewed the four questions that must be answered to determine if a solution fulfills ZT requirements:

  • What are the enterprise’s decision points?
  • What must the ZT solutions be able to do?
  • What data dependencies exist that must be addressed prior to having a fully functional ZT solution in place?
  • What else must be online and functional in order to state that a fully functional ZT solution is in place?

This presentation comprised part of a larger ZT discussion that placed resilience and refinement at the heart of federal cybersecurity efforts.

The Emerging Technology Talk presentation is available now on the Electrosoft website.
